Glands and Immunity

The Lungs and Bloodstream

One exercise, one breath. The lungs seal a complete inhale while the spine pumps, and the bloodstream learns to pull every particle of oxygen out of the air it holds.

Sit in easy pose with a straight spine and hold your knees with your hands. Inhale completely, stretching the ribcage to its full capacity. Do not sip in more air afterward, and do not let any leak out. Place the tongue against the back of the upper teeth, touching the roof of the mouth. Relax the spine and flex it rapidly, keeping the breath held in, until the hold breaks; then exhale. Work the held breath up toward one full minute.
