Energy and Vitality

Energy and Rejuvenation

This is a daily reset hidden inside the most ordinary corner of your house. You stand at the bathroom sink, hold the edge, and three movements keep the body healthy, the metabolism running through the whole day, and the form in shape. Nothing is needed but a bar to hold and the will to work up a sweat. Do it in the morning and you carry that charge with you until night.

Pose 1

Grip the edge of a sink and let it hold you. Walk your feet backwards until your body forms a 45 degree slope from heels to head. The hamstrings will stretch. Now raise and lower alternate heels, walking in place without lifting the toes off the ground. Arms and legs stay fully extended, and the body bends slightly in the middle. As you walk you may let the head drop, you do not have to hold it up. Walk vigorously and work up a sweat. Continue 11 minutes.

Pose 2

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Extend your arms overhead with the palms facing forward, the elbows slightly bent, and the fingers spread wide apart. Swing your arms from side to side, keeping the hands above shoulder level. Swing with real force and the momentum will carry the hips into the swing too. Continue 11 minutes.

Grip the edge of the sink once more. Bend at the waist with your head down between your arms. You will feel the stretch open through the lower back and the backs of the legs. Relax into it and stretch for 11 minutes.
