Energy and Vitality

Connecting with Your Source of Infinite Energy

This kriya opens the channel between you and the limitless source that feeds everything. You work the navel, the seat of your inner fire, and you drive prana down into it on the held breath so the energy that usually leaks outward begins to gather and rise. Held long enough, the navel point becomes a pump that draws on a current that never runs dry. You stop borrowing energy from the day and start drawing it from the infinite.

Sit in easy pose. Stretch your left arm out to the side, fingers in gyan mudra, palm facing up. Bend your right elbow so the palm faces forward and the hand rests at about the level of your ear. On the right hand, press the thumb and the sun finger (the ring finger) together to form surya mudra, and let the other fingers point straight up. Inhale, then exhale. Hold the breath out and pull the navel in, mentally chanting "Har" with each pull. Start with eight pulls of the navel, chanting "Har" eight times while the breath is held out. As that becomes comfortable, raise the count, pulling the navel and mentally chanting "Har" more times, until you reach twenty repetitions of "Har" before you i
