Mind and Emotion

Activate the Central Nervous System and Stimulate the Pituitary Gland

This kriya walks straight into the wiring of you. It charges the central nervous system, wakes the pituitary, and balances the ida and pingala nadis until prana runs clean through the channels. The signs arrive in order: the tongue burns, the head reorganizes, the depression lifts. Do not rush it, the body is rebuilding its own control center.

Pose 1

Sit in easy pose. Bend your elbows and lift your hands a little higher than shoulder level. Point the index finger, the Jupiter finger, of each hand straight up, and curl the other three fingers into a fist with the thumb pressing on top to lock them. Make the Jupiter fingers stiff, hard as steel. Wrinkle your nose up so the upper lip lifts off the teeth. You will look funny. Begin a strong breath through the tip of the nose. It is not as fast as breath of fire, but it must be powerful. Holding your focus on the breath through the nostrils and keeping the pressure of the wrinkled nose activates the ida and pingala channels. Continue for 4 minutes.

Sit in easy pose. Curl your hands into lion's claws, palms facing outward. Begin to punch with the hands fixed in that claw shape. Shape your mouth into an O and breathe in and out through the O of your lips. Move fast, and let the force of the punching hands set the rhythm of the breath. Use the motion to release your inner anger. Be aggressive, physically, mentally, and spiritually. After 2-1/2 minutes, intensify the motion as if you were a lion attacking for real. Continue another 1-1/2 minutes. Then inhale, hold the breath, tense the entire body, and exhale. Repeat that inhale, hold, and tense two more times. This clears away depression.

Pose 3

Sit in easy pose. Stick your tongue out as far as it will go, and at its maximum reach, clap your hands in front of your chest. Pull the tongue back in. Stretch the tongue again and clap again. Pull it in, and keep going. Stretching the tongue this way pulls the little cord beneath it, and that pull stimulates the central nervous system, the control center of your life. Continue for 3 minutes. Then inhale, stick the tongue out to the maximum, hold the breath for 10 seconds, and exhale. Repeat that two more times to finish.

Pose 4

Sit in easy pose. Place both hands on your forehead with all eight fingers touching it, elbows out to the sides, lifted almost to the level of the forehead. Close your eyes, become calm, and sing along with the chanting from a recording of the dawn mantras. Continue for 18 Minutes. Then inhale, gather all your energy at the point between the eyebrows at the root of the nose, and exhale. Repeat that two more times to finish. After this set, take no alcohol or coffee and do nothing to stimulate yourself. Rest and keep the energy you have built. It will heal the body deeply.
